Christian Science at Chautauqua
Welcome to the Christian Science House, Chapel and Study Room at Chautauqua Institution in Chautauqua, New York – a place of spiritual exploration, healing, and community.
Nestled within the historic grounds of Chautauqua Institution, our Chapel and Study Room are a sanctuary for sincere seekers to come together and discover the transformative power of Christian Science. Here we embrace the teachings of Mary Baker Eddy, the discoverer and founder of Christian Science, who taught and practiced the healing impact of God’s love for mankind. Through prayer, spiritual understanding, and the study of the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Eddy’s foundational work, we strive to deepen our understanding of God’s infinite love and its healing impact on our lives. This textbook along with the Bible are our pastor.
As part of the vibrant Chautauqua community, the Christian Science House offers a warm and welcoming Study Room 24/7. Individuals can research the King James Version of the Bible and/or Christian Science on our computer in the online Concord program, find support, and engage in thoughtful discussions. Whether you are simply curious about our teachings or a lifelong Christian Scientist, we invite you to join us on this enriching journey of spiritual discovery.
Throughout the nine-week season, we hold Wednesday Evening Testimony Meetings, Sunday Worship Services and inspiring lectures that nurture spiritual growth and understanding. Along with other denomination houses, we hold a Social Hour on Tuesdays on our porch with a fine view of Bestor Plaza.
Our House is a place where hearts and minds are open — healing is sought and experienced. We extend a heartfelt invitation to be part of our Christian Science House at Chautauqua Institution. Together, let us explore the boundless possibilities of spirituality and healing by embracing the transformative power of God’s love in our spiritual journey. You are always welcome!
